Faculty and Staff
CCS employs faculty and staff who are sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in their personal and public lives and love God with all their heart, mind and strength. CCS believes the solid Christian influence of our teachers combined with a firm foundation in biblical and creation-based learning is essential to the emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and social development of each student.
We seek faculty who are certified in their particular field and have a passion for teaching with a desire for continual professional improvement. Our faculty and staff love and care for each student as a unique child of God. You may read our staff bios by selecting their photos below.
Full-time K4-12 faculty are certified by the State of Minnesota Department of Education and Association of Christian Schools International (our accrediting agency).

Elementary Teachers

- When I first was hired, I taught 2nd and 3rd grades. Then 3rd and 4th together and off and on just 4th grade.
- I coached varsity girls' basketball for 7 years and the lower grades after that. I also have coached volleyball and fast pitch softball.
- I've been on several mission trips with the high school students.
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
- Read, hike, coach, spend time with my family and grandkids.
Q: What is your favorite thing/memory of working at CCS?
- I delight in being with the students every day.
- One of my favorite memories is when our class pet the snake got loose for 2 weeks and I found it one morning in my middle desk drawer and its shed skin in another drawer.
- Another memory was when all us teachers decided, as an April Fool's joke, to resign from teaching. We wrote our letters and one by one turned them in to Sarah Morrison who was the principal at the time. Needless to say, she wasn't too happy. A few months later, she and LeeAnn Norland got revenge when they told us there wasn't enough money for payroll.

- CCS is a great place to work. I am blessed to be able to work with fellow believers. We are able to encourage each other and spur one another on in our faith.

- I have taught 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th grades, but mainly 5th and 6th combined classes.
- I have also taught P.E. and Art classes.
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to hike, camp, fish, ride my motorcycle, work on construction projects, play softball, and play basketball.

One of my favorite things that I have done here is when I was able to teach P.E. and play football with my classes.

Cambridge Christian is a family of like minded Christians who I get to do life with on a daily basis. We get to train and equip our kids to live out God's amazing plan for their lives. I feel blessed to be involved in this type of ministry!

Getting the opportunity to love people like Jesus loves them. I try to bring out "The Gold" in every person I come in contact with. I am certainly not perfect at this, but do try to live this out on a daily basis! What a calling this is.…

It is a place where we can come together, as imperfect people, working towards becoming better by loving God and loving others. We can be in an environment that encourages us to do our best and be the best version of ourselves God calls us to be.

- I used to volunteer in the lunchroom and in the classrooms.
- I also was a substitute teacher for all grades.

I love to be with my family, play games, read, and also go cross country skiing. In the summer I love to spend time at the lake in my kayak and on my paddleboard.

My first year here I experienced a very sweet surprise birthday celebration from my class. It really did surprise me and it made me feel very special.

It is a very special place to me because my son has been taught and nurtured here. I am so excited that I have the opportunity to do the same thing for other children in this school! I am thankful that I can teach them academics as well as teach them about Jesus!

- My first position at CCS was working as a teachers assistant in the Preschool.
- In 2020, I started working as an instructional assistant with Mrs. Aleckson and I have been doing educational support for elementary since then.
- I have also done some tutoring at CCS.
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time? I like to go hiking, read, cook, and do Escape Rooms with my family.
Q: What is your favorite thing/memory of working at CCS? One of my favorite memories at CCS is helping the 3rd and 4th graders plan a "surprise" birthday party for Mrs. Aleckson.

- As a staff member, CCS has been a place where I have been able to learn and grow professionally alongside a wonderful community of students and staff.
- As a parent, I love that CCS partners with our family to prepare my children academically, relationally, for what God has called them to do.

- I started as the in-house substitute teacher last year, where I subbed in almost every class we have! I served in lunch & recess, and tutored during that time as well.
- This year, along with teaching 5 different classes in grades 6-10, I act as a Student Support Teacher, helping students set goals & serving as an accountability partner in reaching and maintaining them. I also do some tutoring as well.
- I serve as staff advisor for Student Council, helping the students host events and fundraising drives.
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
- When I'm not at school, you can find me reading some sort of historical fiction or biography, staying up to date with the latest podcasts and TV shows, playing Minecraft of Mario Kart with my husband, taking a walk with our dog, Bo, taking photos of people, or just having a bonfire outside.
Q: What is your favorite thing/memory of working at CCS?
- Taking field trips with the kids! It's a lot of fun to be able to teach kids beyond the bricks of the building and get them out in the world, serving, learning, and interacting with new people and things alongside their classmates.

- CCS has helped open my eyes to what it truly means to "love thy neighbor" - in good times and in bad, when it's easy, and when it's incredibly difficult, when they agree with you, and when they seem to be your polar opposite - all individuals are God's beloved creation, and all are our "neighbor" in need of love and care.

- Being confident that I have put my faith in the most influential person OF ALL TIME, and knowing that He is both FULLY loving and FULLY just, a combination that we can not truly understand. In a world of chaos and hate towards one another, Jesus is a light in the darkness - and a reminder to look at those we differ from with grace and compassion.

Q: What is your favorite thing/memory of working at CCS? Graduation ceremonies will always be my favorite. They are an awesome celebration of what the "Whole Child" vision of CCS can do in partnership with parents.
Q: What does Cambridge Christian School mean to you? CCS is about "becoming". It is a school, but it's a school that wants to educate with a vision in mind of who kids are made to be in Christ. It's a safe place to be encouraged and challenged, to grow a confidence and identity that has more to do with the image of God in you rather than the externals and opinions of others. It's a community partnership that allows "becoming" to happen.
Q: The best part of following Jesus is...My entire life changed when I realized that the ultimate goal of heaven is not that, through Jesus, we can become "good and behaving" people. The gospel of salvation is just the beginning of a larger gospel of the kingdom...one where we are transformed and empowered to live with and through Jesus. It's changed literally everything about my life, including how I see and relate to children.
