Cambridge Christian School was founded in 1978 on four core values:

- Parental responsibility

- Excellence in everything

- God's preeminence

- Unity in the Body of Christ

A Biblical worldview is preeminent in all curricular areas. Every subject and every classroom is taught from a Christ-centered perspective.

The following are the foundational beliefs on which Cambridge Christian School operates and teaches and will be unapologetically taught and practiced throughout all grade levels, and curricular and co-curricular activities. The substance of these statements will be considered primary doctrine in Cambridge Christian School.

I. THE WORD OF GOD

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

II. THE TRINITY

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Luke 3:22; John 1:1-2; John 17:21; 2 Cor. 13:14). These three are equal in every divine perfection and execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation and redemption.

III. CREATION

We believe that God is the Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible (Gen. 1 – 2, 7; John 1:1-3).

IV. JESUS CHRIST

We believe in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, miracles, vicarious and atoning death, bodily resurrection and ascension, and His personal and bodily return in power and glory.

V. HUMANITY

We believe that humans were created in God’s image, but that through sin they brought upon themselves physical and spiritual death; that all humans possess a sinful nature by birth, become actual sinners in thought, word, and deed by their own choosing, and as such are condemned to hell and unable to remedy their condition.

VI. REGENERATION

We believe that salvation was made possible by the vicarious and atoning death of Jesus Christ, and by His bodily resurrection, by which He paid the price for all our sins and declared us righteous. This is a free gift of God’s grace, received by faith.

VII. HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit, who was given to the Church on the day of Pentecost, was meant to be a continuing presence and power in every succeeding generation of God’s people and a continuing fulfillment of the promise of the Father, empowering the Christian to live a godly life and to minister to others through the spiritual gifts. The Spirit is a gift of the Lord Jesus, received by faith.

VIII. THE CHURCH

We believe that Jesus earnestly desired that all Christians be made one (1 Cor. 12:13), even as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one (John 17:21), and that this unity can come only through personal and corporate obedience and commitment to the lordship of Jesus Christ.

IX. RESURRECTION OF THE BODY

We believe in the resurrection of the dead and look forward to the life in the world to come (1 Cor. 15:12-20; 42-44).

X. CHRISTIAN CONDUCT

We believe that Christians should live for the glory of God and the well-being of humanity (1 Cor. 10:31), that their conduct should be blameless before the world (Gen. 17:1; Deut. 18:13; Matt. 5:16), that they should be generous and faithful stewards of their possessions (Matt. 6:24; 2 Cor. 9:11), and that his they should seek full stature of maturity in Christ (Eph. 4:13). The lives of Christians should be characterized by the fruits of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Gal. 5:22). Christians should follow Christ’s example of sacrificial love for God and other people (Matt. 16:24; John 13:34; Eph. 5:1-2).

XI. MARRIAGE, GENDER, AND SEXUALITY

Cambridge Christian School stands firmly upon truth claims and moral foundations of Christianity found in the Bible. This includes, but is not limited to, the biblical definition of “marriage “, which is a covenant for life between one biological man and one biological woman, entered into for companionship, sexual unity, procreation, and to display the love Christ has for his Bride - the Church. Regarding the attendant boundaries of sexuality and moral conduct, and the clear biblical teaching that gender is both sacred and established by God’s design as male and female. Our orthodoxy and orthopraxy of this teaching is that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pedophilia), is sinful. Therefore, in order for CCS to have proper delegated authority, at least one parent or guardian of any student enrolled at CCS must be living a biblically moral life which rejects immorality, including sexual activity outside the bounds of marriage as defined above (Gen. 2:18; Matt. 15:18-19; Matt. 19:4-6; 1 Cor. 6:9-10, 18-20; Heb. 13:4).

XII. RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

We believe that every human being is able to have direct relations with God and is responsible to the triune God in all matters of faith; and that each church, para-church, or religious organization is independent and should be free from government interference.

XIII. STATEMENT OF LIFE

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life (Ps. 139).

XIV. REDEMPTION AND RESTORATION

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19-21; Rom. 10:9-10; 1 Cor. 6:11).

XV. HATEFUL AND HARASSING BEHAVIORS AND ATTITUDES

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:29-31; Luke 6:31). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture and therefore not in accord with the Statement of Faith and Practice nor any other applicable doctrinal, conduct, and operational statements.

XVI. ADHERENCE TO STATEMENT OF FAITH AND PRACTICE

Directors, Staff, and Volunteers: Each member of the School Board and each employee, volunteer, substitute teacher, coach, and others as defined in a CCS handbook, operations manual, or policy, as a qualification for serving in such role, shall have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior and subscribe annually in writing to and adhere to the foregoing Statement of Faith and Practice and any other applicable CCS doctrinal, conduct, and operational statements.

Students: Students, under the authority of the partnership between parents and school, shall abide by student conduct and decorum in accordance with the foregoing Statement of Faith and Practice and any other applicable CCS doctrinal and conduct requirements.

Families: Families must be in good standing with a Christian fellowship and fully supportive of the foregoing Statement of Faith and Practice and any other applicable doctrinal and conduct statements as indicated by the Pastoral Reference Form and signatures on application forms.

It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loans programs, athletic, and other school-administered programs.

Cambridge Christian exists to challenge students' minds and enrich their hearts.

CCS operates a comprehensive college preparatory academic program. Students earn their degree while hearing, developing, and learning to articulate a Christian worldview and being challenged to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

CCS facilitates events for students, faculty, staff, and parents that result in a caring and supportive community.

CCS builds a school culture that provides open communication of its mission, vision, objectives, and goals.

CCS works to reach the extended family including alumni, churches, and the greater Cambridge/Isanti community through effective communication, use of school facilities, and events.

Children are intellectual, moral and spiritual gifts from God. As such, they must be challenged and enriched to be the best of heart and mind, all for the purpose of glorifying God. Consistency between home, church and school is the best way to ensure this.

CCS was founded on four values:

1) God's preeminence: CCS recognizes God's preeminence. His word is truth, and everything fits under Him.  (Col.1:16-17, 2:2-3, Ps.119:105)

2) Excellence in everything: CCS commits to the pursuit of excellence in every area. We expect students to meet high standards in academics, discipline, character development, and spiritual development.  (Mt. 5:14-16, Col. 3:23-24)

3) Parental responsibility: CCS recognizes the importance of parents. We believe that God designed the role of parents as one of authority and responsibility. Because of this, we believe that God holds parents accountable for their decisions and actions.

4) Unity in the Body of Christ: CCS commits to unity in the body of Christ. With so many churches represented in the student body, we believe that Christians can and must work together.  (John 13:35, 17:22-23)

CCS employs faculty and staff who are sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in their personal and public lives and love God with all their heart, mind and strength. CCS believes the solid Christian influence of our teachers combined with a firm foundation in biblical and creation-based learning is essential to the emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and social development of each student.

We seek faculty who are certified in their particular field and have a passion for teaching with a desire for continual professional improvement. Our faculty and staff love and care for each student as a unique child of God.

Full-time K4-12 faculty are certified by the State of Minnesota Department of Education and Association of Christian Schools International (our accrediting agency).

Cambridge Christian School is a “parent in partnership” school. CCS partners with parents in preparing their children, our students, academically, relationally, and spiritually. Faculty and staff seek to come along side each parent to help the student develop academically, relationally, and spiritually. It is our desire to uphold consistent values and goals between the home and the classroom.

CCS is a member of and accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

CCS is a K4-12th Grade school offering a Liberal Arts education where students benefit from a broad experience of core subjects and fine arts.  We encourage the development of problem solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and effective communication techniques.  A biblical foundation leading to a biblical worldview is preeminent.

Seeking high academic standards in all subject areas, students are prepared to live out God's plan for their lives.

CCS annually assesses its educational programming through standardized assessment, curriculum review, and surveys.

Cambridge Christian High School classes include core subject courses with additional elective and fine arts opportunities. CCS also partners with the University of Northwestern, St. Paul, and Bethel University to provide college level courses that provide dual credit for current full-time students.

We incorporate experiential opportunities as part of our high school curriculum to supplement the classroom experience. These experiences are a requirement of all full-time high school students, which include:

1. Service to the community

2. Civics trip to Washington D.C.

3. Spiritual Retreat

4. Cross-Cultural Missions

Cambridge Christian School seeks to provide quality Christ centered co-curricular and extra-curricular programs which are a key component in the development of the “whole person”. Our athletic program is based on a philosophy of Christian Athletics. We desire Christ to be our motivation for excellence and the center of everything we do.

CCS offers a variety of athletic activities throughout the year. We offer teams for student athletes in 4th - 12th grades at various levels of competition. Currently, we offer Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Alpine Skiing, and Clay Target/Trap Team. See the Athletics Page for more information.

We also have a variety of activities such as Music & Fine Arts, Student Council, Yearbook and American Sign Language.

CCS encourages individuals to grow in their relationship with Jesus, others, and the world around them.  One of the outflows of a growing relationship with Christ is a love that is developed for others around us. Our curriculum incorporates opportunities for our students to display love and engage our community through serving.

Cambridge Christian School has technologically enriched programming. At CCS, technology is a tool that enhances the effectiveness of both the teaching and the learning process. Seeking to train students on how to use technology, staff, faculty, parents, and teachers are interconnected through online communication and student management systems.

CCS currently employs a 1:1 Chromebook program for 9-12th grades.  In addition, we utilize Chromebook carts for both elementary and Jr. High students. Classrooms throughout the school are outfitted with projectors, cameras, and other technological devices to help create an engaging academic environment.

CCS seeks to be good stewards of the finances in which God has entrusted us to educate His children. We will diligently seek God’s wisdom in the setting of tuition and our annual budget, which will allow us to provide a quality Christian education to as many in our community as possible. In addition to tuition, we will actively seek additional sources of revenue to help keep tuition affordable through fundraising efforts and the establishment of an endowment.

CCS is committed to providing the necessary tools, equipment, technology, and training to support strong academic and spiritual growth.
